Elegua Awá

Awá means “We” in Yoruba.
We are the World. We are the planet. We need to be together.
Awá is the desire to bring all people on the planet together around human ideals.

Elegua is the Orixa that represents the divinity of the Yoruba pantheon, which is the link between heaven and earth, between human beings and the Gods. The messenger who brings our messages of union and peace to everyone. We are “Elegua”.

The drum is a symbol of calling, of communication, it is a primitive instrument but it has the same symbolism as modern intercommunication technology.

In this work, these two worlds come together: the classic tradition with the modernity of technology.

No one better than “Eleguá” to guide us on this journey.
